al-Din’s Jami al-Tawarikh cannot be overstated. It has
frequently been described as the first true ‘World History’,
and is undoubtedly the most important single historical source
for the Mongol Empire as a whole, including the realm of the
Persian Ilkhans. This project is jointly organised by the
Foundation and the Faculty of Oriental Studies (University of
Cambridge)

Yalda Celebration:
Shab-e Yalda, celebrated on 21
December, has great significance in the Iranian calendar. It is
the eve of the birth of Mithra, the Sun God, who symbolised
light, goodness and strength on earth. Shab-e Yalda is
a time of joy. We celebrate this joyous event every year.
